Carol Puddicombe is a Lecturer and Design & Technology Secondary Education Co-ordinator at Edith Cowan University's School of Education. She has over three decades of experience in technology and education, including roles in the ICT industry (1987–2000) and as Head of Technologies in an independent boys' secondary school (2004–2019). She holds a Master of Arts (Macquarie University, 2011), a Graduate Diploma in Education (Edith Cowan University, 2001), and a Bachelor of Arts (University of Western Australia, 1988), with ongoing PhD research.
Her research focuses on Design & Technology education, particularly gender and diversity within the field. She has contributed to curriculum development and served as Chief Examiner for ATAR examinations with the Schools Curriculum and Standards Authority. Notable recognitions include finalist positions in the Telstra Business Women Awards (2005, 2006) and inclusion in Who's Who of Australian Women since 2006.
Carol mentors pre-service teachers in Design & Technology, emphasizing curriculum integration. She has authored a chapter in International Technology Teacher Education in the Asia-Pacific Region (2020) and has collaborated extensively on educational initiatives.
