معرفی
Carol Norberg is an Associate Professor and Lecturer in Space Physics at the Department of Physics, Umeå University. She holds a Docent qualification and is recognized as a university teacher. Her primary affiliation is with the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) in Kiruna, focusing on solar-terrestrial physics and space weather research. She leads the international Arctic Science course, integrating fieldwork at Abisko Scientific Research Station to study climate change impacts in the Arctic. Norberg maintains institutional partnerships between Umeå University and IRF, particularly regarding PhD student coordination. She is also a board member of NORNDiP, promoting diversity in Nordic physics education and research.
Research Interests: Norberg’s work spans space physics phenomena, Arctic environmental dynamics, and space education innovation. Her studies include auroral display prediction using space data, meteoroid impact detection on spacecraft, and the societal implications of human space exploration. She emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, blending space instrumentation analysis with climate science and pedagogical strategies.
Collaborations & Contributions: She coordinates PhD student exchanges between Umeå and IRF, actively participates in space weather research groups, and develops outreach programs for undergraduate space science education. Her work bridges academic research with practical applications, such as optimizing spacecraft instrumentation resilience against meteoroid impacts and enhancing Arctic climate monitoring frameworks.
