Dr Carol Farr is a Research Fellow at the Institute of English Studies, University of London, specializing in decorated manuscripts of early medieval Britain and Ireland. Her research investigates visual-art/text relationships in manuscripts like the Book of Kells, alongside manuscript reuse and recycling practices.
Her primary research interests include:
- Art History of Early Medieval Europe
- Manuscript Illumination Techniques
- Liturgical Text Interpretation
- Manuscript Fragmentology
- Ninth-Twelfth Century Irish Artistic Styles
- Public Reading Practices in Medieval Contexts
