Dr. Carol Colatrella is a Professor in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at Georgia Tech and Co-Director of the Center for the Study of Women, Science, and Technology (WST). She has held leadership roles including Ivan Allen College associate dean for graduate studies and faculty development (2012-2021), and co-founded the WST Center in 1995. Her research focuses on gender, science/technology narratives, American literature, and narrative theory. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Rutgers University (1987).

Research interests span feminist critiques of science/technology, 19th/20th-century literature, and equity in academia. Her books include Feminism's Progress (2023), Toys and Tools in Pink (2011), and Literature and Moral Reform (2002). Recent work examines gender equity in Danish universities and narratives of women in STEM.
Publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches, such as analyzing Dickens' Little Dorrit through information systems and Darwinian feminist themes. Her articles appear in Nineteenth-Century French Studies, Configurations, and edited volumes on gender/technology intersections.

She pioneered the WST Learning Community (2000) and co-led the GEMS STEM outreach program. Current projects include digital humanities modules on gender/race in computing history. Colatrella also serves as Executive Director of the Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts.
