Carol Archbold

Carol Archbold is Walter F. and Verna Gehrts Endowed Professor at North Dakota State University's Department of Criminal Justice and Challey Institute for Global Innovation & Growth Faculty Fellow. She specializes in policing accountability, liability, risk management, and gender/race issues in criminal justice systems.

Her research examines police accountability mechanisms, organizational responses to misconduct, and the impact of demographic factors on law enforcement practices. Archbold teaches courses including Police and Society, Applied Research Methods, and Gender/Race in Criminal Justice at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Her recent publications focus on police reform, accountability systems, gender equity in policing, and community impacts of law enforcement practices, with consistent emphasis on practical policy implications and organizational change.
