Carmen Oltmann is a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Dean in the Department of Pharmacy at Rhodes University. She holds multiple advanced qualifications including a PhD (Rhodes University) and PGDHE. Her professional affiliations include roles as a journal reviewer, SAPC-accredited tutor, and committee member for various health-related organizations.
Teaching responsibilities span all undergraduate years with a focus on experiential learning. She has coordinated 4th-year pharmacy programs for over 15 years and assists students in securing internships. Research interests include Sports Pharmacy, critical realism, and 21st-century health educator competencies.
Professional contributions include participation in international pharmacy education conferences (e.g., Life Long Learning in Pharmacy series) and membership in the Eastern Cape Health Research Committee. She actively supports faculty development through her SAFRI fellowship and CHERTL portfolio assessments.
