Carmen Merolla is a Senior Lecturer of Italian and Coordinator of the Italian Language Program at Boston College's Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. She holds an M.A. in Italian Literature and Culture from Boston College and another in Comparative Languages and Literatures from Università degli Studi L'Orientale di Napoli.

Her research focuses on integrating technology and cinema into language education to enhance cross-cultural competencies. She pioneered the Tandem Project, a tech-driven language exchange program, and created an immersive summer program in Italy for STEM students. Recent work explores inclusive language practices and first-generation Italian artistic production.
Presentations include panels on 'Inclusive Italian Guidelines' at ACTFL (2022), Boston University (2022), and BAPC (2022), alongside rethinking study abroad models at virtual conferences.
