Carmen García López

Dr. Carmen García López is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) within the International Security department and the Biological and Chemical Disarmament and Safety research group. Her work focuses on chemical weapons analysis, novel chemical hazard identification, and photocatalytic materials for energy applications. She holds a PhD from the IMDEA Energy Institute (2020) and multiple advanced degrees from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Notable awards include the Juan de la Cierva Fellowship and the Best PhD Thesis in Photochemistry (2020/2021).

Her research integrates materials science, analytical chemistry, and energy systems. Key projects involve conjugated porous polymers (CPPs) for artificial photosynthesis and hydrogen production. Recent work explores hybrid materials combining CPPs with TiO₂ for enhanced photocatalytic efficiency.
