Alejandro García Cañas

Alejandro García Cañas is a PhD Student and Research Assistant at IMDEA Nanociencia since April 2023. Affiliated with the Nanostructured Functional Surfaces group, his work focuses on fabricating nano-functional surfaces and developing Fresnel lenses as solar concentrators using a roll-to-roll device.

His academic background includes a Bachelor’s in Physics from Universidad de Salamanca (2021), with an Erasmus exchange at the University of Bristol (2019), and a Master’s in Energy from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM). Prior to his current role, he received an internship scholarship at IMDEA Energía in 2022, where he worked on multifunctional materials for solar fuel production.

Research interests span Nanotechnology, Materials Science, and Solar Energy, with emphasis on Photoactivated Processes, Energy Conversion, and Applied Physics applications. While no scientific awards are listed, his projects align with sustainable energy and nanofabrication advancements.
