University of Messinaمعرفی
Carmelo Corsaro is an Associate Professor of Experimental Physics at the University of Messina, affiliated with the Department of Mathematics, Informatics, Physics and Earth Sciences (MIFT). He holds national qualifications as an Associate Professor (2013, 2019) and Full Professor (2018) in Physics. His research focuses on thermodynamic properties of liquids, metabolic systems, and cultural heritage preservation. Corsaro has authored over 125 publications and contributed to projects like the EU GaN4AP initiative. He is an editorial board member for journals such as Frontiers in Physics and Polymers.
- Education: PhD in Physics (2007, University of Messina), Master in Physics (2003)
- Employment: Associate Professor since 2022; prior roles include Senior Researcher (2019–2022) and Junior Researcher (2018–2019)
Research interests span water dynamics, nanomaterials for biomedical applications, and spectroscopic techniques. Awards include the Cozzarelli Prize (2007) and Young Researcher Award (2010). Corsaro teaches courses on device physics, data analysis, and experimental techniques at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Key projects include studying water-methanol solutions' thermodynamics and developing plasmonic nanocomposites. He has organized international schools on water systems and condensed matter physics, and serves on institutional committees for refugee education and research evaluation.
