Dr. Carma M. Claw serves as Assistant Professor of Management in the Katz School of Business at Fort Lewis College, specializing in Indigenous business frameworks, tribal sovereignty applications, and ethical business strategy.
Her academic credentials include:
- Ph.D. in Management from New Mexico State University
- M.B.A. from New Mexico State University
- B.S. in Business Information Systems from University of Utah, David Eccles School of Business
Her research examines strategic resources, leadership ethics, and sovereignty as organizational assets within Indigenous enterprises, with publications in Leadership and the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment & Technology Law. She actively contributes to tribal business scholarship through textbooks like American Indian Business Principles and Practices and presents at major conferences including the Academy of Management. Prior industry experience spans over seventeen years at defense electronics firms, enriching her academic perspective. As a Dinè (Navajo) Nation citizen of Bitah'nii and Kinłichii'nii clans from Aneth, Utah, she holds the distinction of being the first Dinè business professor nationally.
