Carly Adams is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Lethbridge. She serves as Director of the Centre for Oral History and Tradition (COHT) and as Editor of Sport History Review (2016-2024). She also contributes to Canada's Sport Hall of Fame Selection Committee (2018-2023) and holds a Board of Governors Research Chair, Tier I (2022-2027).

Dr. Adams specializes in 20th-century Canadian sport history, gender studies, and oral history methodologies. Her research explores community resilience, cultural memory, and societal dynamics through sport and leisure experiences, particularly focusing on Japanese Canadian narratives post-WWII.
Recent publications highlight her work on activist research, historical marginalization, and digital storytelling. Articles span themes like transnational oral history collaborations (Nikkei Memory Capture Project), feminist critiques of sport governance, and the socio-cultural impacts of historical sporting events.

Dr. Adams supervises graduate students in Kinesiology MA, Cultural Social and Political Thought MA and PhD programs. She leads the Nikkei Memory Capture Project and contributes to museum studies, public history, and sport policy debates.
