Carlota Memba Aguado is a Lecturer and PhD candidate in EU Law at the Transnational Legal Studies Department of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She specializes in the intersection of EU anti-discrimination law and emerging technologies, particularly AI applications in private spheres like online dating platforms.
- LL.M. in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (Viadrina European University, 2022-2024)
- B.A. in Politics, Administration and International Relations (Zeppelin University, 2016-2021)
Her research explores legal frameworks addressing institutional discrimination, post-colonial theories, and decolonization. She has conducted research at the Catholic University of Lille and Yangon University, collaborating on anti-corruption legal frameworks with Transparency International Brazil. Active in civil rights advocacy, she worked with Oficina Precaria Berlin to empower Spanish-speaking migrants.
Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals focusing on justice, reduced inequalities, and partnerships for goals.
