Carlos Gustavo Godoy is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. He holds a JD from UC Berkeley (1998) and a PhD from USC Annenberg (2007). His research focuses on leveraging virtual environments to diagnose and influence real-world decision-making, particularly in health policy for marginalized populations like LGBT communities. He previously served as a public policy consultant for the National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Medicine, examining the impact of technology on LGBT health equity. His work includes developing virtual interventions for HIV prevention and optimizing electronic health records to improve care for underserved groups. Godoy also taught at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and practiced civil litigation before joining USC.
