Carlos Guimarães

Carlos Guimarães is a Researcher at the 3B's Research Group, University of Minho. He was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2024 for his significant contributions to the development of complex tissue models and the innovative Living Optical Fibers technology, which accelerates the discovery of therapies for diseases like cancer.

His research focuses on tissue engineering, biomaterials, cancer research, and microfluidics. Recent work explores hydrogel-based 3D cancer architectures, enzyme-powered nanomotors, and immune-modulating phototherapy.
