Carlos Esparza, S.J., Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Saint Louis University's Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.Div. from the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University, an M.A. in Statistics from Columbia University, an M.A. in Philosophy from Fordham University, and an A.B. in Computer Science from Harvard University.
His research interests include labor economics, public economics, applied microeconomics, and the intersection of economics and religion. As a Jesuit scholar, his work incorporates both quantitative economic analysis and theological perspectives.
