Carlos C. Goller is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at North Carolina State University (NC State), within the College of Sciences. He holds a B.S. in Biology and Biotechnology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (2002), a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Emory University (2008), and postdoctoral fellowships at Duke University Medical Center (2009–2012) and NC State (2012–2015). His research interests span molecular microbiology, metagenomics, epidemiology, and science education, with a focus on integrating high-throughput discovery, open educational practices, and technology into teaching. He leads initiatives such as the Delftia Project, leveraging citizen science and undergraduate research to study microbial gold precipitation.
