Carlo Caduff is Professor and Head of the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine at King's College London. A social anthropologist specializing in science, medicine and state power, he leads major ethnographic projects on cancer care in India and pandemic preparedness.
His Wellcome Trust-funded research examines healthcare affordability and access in resource-constrained settings, particularly focusing on catastrophic expenditures in cancer care within India's fragmented health system. This work addresses intersecting challenges of rising cancer rates, technological fascination, and lack of universal coverage.
Caduff serves as Director of Research and chairs the Culture, Medicine & Power Research Group, building on previous work at SOAS and Royal Holloway.
