Carlo Altomonte is a Research Unit Director and Associate Dean at SDA Bocconi School of Management, Bocconi University. He holds a Bachelor and PhD in Economics from Bocconi University, alongside a MA in Economics from UC Louvain and a PhD in Applied Economics from KU Leuven. His roles include Program Director of the World Bachelor in Business and SDA Professor of Macroeconomics and International Business Environment in Executive MBA programs, for which he received the 'Best MBA Teacher' award.
He has been a visiting scholar at institutions including Paris School of Economics, London School of Economics, and the European Central Bank. As a consultant, he advises the European Commission, European Parliament, UNCTAD, and the ECB on trade and investment. Formerly, he served as an economic advisor to the Italian Prime Minister's Office.
His research focuses on globalization, international trade, and industry dynamics. He is Vice President of the Institute of International Studies (ISPI) in Milan.
