Carlita Harrington is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Cumberland University, affiliated with the Millard and JJ Oakley School of Humanities, Education and the Arts. She will commence her role in Fall 2024, teaching courses such as General Psychology and Human Growth & Development. A Florida native, she holds a B.S. in Psychology and Communications from Tennessee State University and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. With eight years of service in the U.S. Navy and a specialization in Military Families & Culture, she adopts a Rogerian (person-centered) approach to counseling, emphasizing client self-discovery. Her professional focus includes advocacy and education to drive systemic change.
