Carles Guerra holds a PhD in Fine Arts from the Universitat de Barcelona (2006) and serves as an Associate Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He is an independent curator and researcher specializing in dialogical practices in art, photography, and documentary methodologies. Guerra is affiliated with the Collège de Photographie et Images Animées at CNAP (France) and the Lieven Gevaert Center (Belgium).

His research explores intersections between art, photography, and socio-political narratives, with a focus on Catalan cultural figures. Recent projects include the exhibition Tosquelles. Guerra has held visiting professorships at New York University, Bard College, Goldsmiths University, and KU Leuven. His publications include Restituciones. La fotografía en deuda con su pasado (2023) and works on textile artist Josep Royo, which also connects to his curatorial practice.
