Dr Carla Solvason is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Education, University of Worcester. With a career spanning over a decade at the university, she has held roles including partnerships lead for Foundation Degrees, chair of the School of Education Ethics Committee, and leader of the Early Childhood Masters pathway. Her work integrates teaching, research, and leadership development in early childhood and primary education.

Her research focuses on ethical practitioner research, parent partnership, and leadership in primary and nursery education. Current projects include studies on supporting parents of children with SEND, longitudinal analysis of a local authority disability service, and research into the health and self-perception of Early Childhood practitioners. She is also authoring three books on parent partnerships, early childhood skills, and ethics in education.
Scientific contributions include longitudinal funded studies on language development and collaborative leadership clusters in primary schools. As a HEA Senior Fellow, she emphasizes ethical research practices and pedagogy. Carla oversees three PhD students and delivers CPD on speech and language support, leveraging her experience with children’s communication charity I CAN.
