Carla Rodrigues Cardoso

Carla Rodrigues Cardoso is an Assistant Professor and researcher at Lusófona University, affiliated with the Research Center for Applied Communication, Culture and New Technologies (CICANT). She serves as the scientific coordinator of the Observatory for the Media in Lusophony and the Magazine Media Lab, while also leading the Master in Journalism and Media Studies and BA in Communication and Journalism programs.

• Education: PhD in Communication Sciences (NOVA University of Lisbon).

Her research focuses on Journalism, Magazine Studies, History of Journalism, and Intersectionality, with recent work addressing Disinformation. She is the Principal Investigator of the IM Lab (Intersectionality Media Lab) project and contributes to the Erasmus+ initiative Fake the System: EU Tools Against Disinformation. Her publications span topics like media historiography, magazine design, and political communication.

Key collaborations include the CICANT Research Center, where she explores media's role in shaping cultural narratives, and the Lusófona University's academic programs. Her work intersects with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in media literacy and gender equality.
