Carla Perrotta is an Associate Professor at the School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science, University College Dublin. She holds dual roles as a Medical Doctor specializing in Internal Medicine, General Practice, and Clinical Effectiveness. Her academic positions include co-director of the Health Data Analytics program within the Advance Centre's Micro-credentials initiative. Perrotta’s research focuses on systematic reviews, clinical decision-making, health inequalities, and pandemic preparedness, with notable contributions in bronchiolitis management, workplace pandemic adaptation, and interventions for obesity prevention. She has led over 20 systematic reviews influencing clinical guidelines and public health policy.
Her teaching portfolio includes courses on Clinical Epidemiology, Evidence Synthesis, Health Economics, and Patient-Reported Outcomes. She coordinates modules like Data Analytics for Healthcare and Health Technology Assessment. Perrotta’s interdisciplinary work spans addiction recovery among the homeless, maternal health in Argentina, and mental health stigma reduction. She collaborates internationally, including roles as a Cochrane Author and Visiting Professor at the University of Rennes 1.
