معرفی
Carla Garcia Lozano is a Lecturer in the Department of Geography at the Universitat de Girona, affiliated with the Institute of the Environment and the research group Laboratori d'Anàlisi i Gestió del Paisatge (LAGP). Her work focuses on coastal geomorphology and ecological connectivity, particularly in Mediterranean beach-dune systems. She is currently pursuing a PhD analyzing the geomorphological and ecological state of Catalan coastal dunes.
- Education: BA in Geography (2013), Master's in Environmental Change: Analysis and Management (2014), both from Universitat de Girona
Her research spans biogeography, landscape ecology, and coastal systems, with a methodological emphasis on GIS applications. Publications highlight her expertise in habitat availability for keystone species like jaguars and wolves, as well as historical analysis of coastal dune transformations.
Recent studies include:
- GIS-based analysis of ecological corridors in Costa Rica (2014)
- Habitat connectivity for wolves in Catalonia (2015, 2016)
- Historical coastal dune landscape evolution in the Mediterranean (2016)
Her work demonstrates interdisciplinary integration of physical geography, conservation biology, and spatial analysis tools. She collaborates with research teams at the Institute of the Environment and contributes to both academic publications and applied conservation projects.
