Carla Collevecchio is a Lecturer in Architectural Design at the Umeå School of Architecture, Umeå University, Sweden, since 2016. She coordinates the design studio 'Fundamentals' in the BA program, focusing on interdisciplinary approaches blending artistic, technical, and conceptual explorations. Her research investigates design methodologies using the human body as a spatial tool, drawing from art, performance, and architecture. She is a member of the 'Designing the contemporary city' research group.
Educations:
- Double Degree in Architecture from Universidad Central de Venezuela and Università degli Studi La Sapienza di Roma
- Master’s in Architecture and Interior Design (Summa Cum Laude, 2008)
Research Interests: Interdisciplinary design methodologies, body-centric spatial knowledge, Bauhaus influences in education, and pedagogical frameworks for architectural complexity. Her work bridges historical movements like Oskar Schlemmer’s performance art with modern design practices.
