Andrea Quagliola

Andrea Quagliola is an Associate Professor at the Discipline of Architecture within the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape & Visual Arts at The University of Western Australia. He co-founded the design studio MORQ* in Rome, Italy, and has been actively involved in architectural education and practice since 2001.

• Academic Roles: Lecturer at UWA since 2004, Design Studio Coordinator (contract teaching), and Honours supervision at University of Rome 'La Sapienza' (2000-2002).
• Professional Practice: Collaborated with spaceagency in Fremantle (2003-2005) and led projects across residential, commercial, and cultural sectors in Italy and Australia.

Research focuses on architectural design principles, practice innovation, and technology integration. Notable projects include the National Memorial for Victims of Institutional Child Sexual Abuse (2023) and the Altana residential design (2026, in preparation).

Recent works emphasize sustainable and culturally responsive architecture, with a strong emphasis on spatial innovation and community engagement. MORQ*'s built works span residential renovations, commercial spaces, and public installations in Rome and Western Australia.
