Carla Bruni

Carla Bruni is a Lecturer in Historic Preservation at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Her work focuses on preservation, sustainability, and community engagement, particularly in addressing energy security for vintage homeowners and advancing diversity in preservation movements. She has collaborated with the U.S. EPA, the United Nations, and global communities to integrate environmental justice and cultural resource management.

• BA in English (Writing/Poetry), Loyola University Chicago

Research & Practice: Bruni's research emphasizes the intersection of cultural heritage and environmental/social wellbeing. She has led National Register historic district listings, authored Environmental Justice Reports, and contributed to disaster relief efforts in New Orleans. Currently, she is co-authoring an illustrated book documenting Chicago's architectural history from pre-Colonial times to WWII.
