Carl P. Scott is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Decision and Information Sciences at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston. He brings extensive professional experience from the chemical process industries and the United States Marine Corps, contributing practical expertise in information systems and strategic technology management.

Dr. Scott's research focuses on information systems within supply chain management, particularly in the food supply chain, success factors for small business internet adoption, and the management of information technology in non-profit organizations. His work bridges academic theory with real-world application in both public and private sectors.
His professional experience includes executive roles in information systems, quality control, and enterprise resource planning. As a consultant, he has designed and implemented hardware and software solutions for diverse business challenges. He also serves as a strategic advisor to Houston-area organizations on IT asset management.
Dr. Scott has contributed to the community through board service with key non-profits, including:

He joined the Bauer College of Business faculty in 2001 and continues to influence both students and organizations through teaching and practical engagement.
