Carl M. Warren is a Clinical Professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where he directs the Community Justice Project, a policy-based clinic addressing social justice issues through collaboration with community partners. A full-time faculty member since 2016, he previously served at the University of Minnesota Law School’s Civil Practice Clinic from 1990 to 2016.

His research and teaching focus on civil rights law, racial justice, and the impact of bias on the legal system. He has advised the Civil Rights Moot Court and oversees programs like the McGee National Civil Rights Competition. His career spans 15 years as a trial attorney in the Minnesota Attorney General’s Human Rights division.
Current roles include teaching Supervised Research & Writing and mentoring students in policy advocacy. He is actively involved in initiatives addressing systemic inequities and legal ethics.
