Carl Jenkinson

Carl Jenkinson is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina, where he teaches Professional Communication and contributes to the Center for Business Communication. He holds a Ph.D. in Twentieth Century American Literature from USC (2009), an M.F.A. in Fiction (2003), and a P.G.C.E. in French Education (1995). His academic career includes over two decades of teaching in English, literature, and creative writing at institutions like Franklin College and Mount Ida College. Jenkinson’s research interests span professional communication, technical writing, and literary studies, with a focus on rhetoric and pedagogy. He has received numerous awards for teaching excellence, including the USC Mortar Board Award and the Wolf-Kuiper Research Grant. Beyond academia, he has led creative writing workshops for K-12 students and served on curriculum committees, editorial boards, and community outreach initiatives. His creative works include short stories and literary reviews, and he is fluent in French and proficient in British Sign Language.
