معرفی
Dr. Carl E. Svensson is a full Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Guelph, holding a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy and Rare Isotope Physics. He leads major research initiatives such as the GRIFFIN gamma-ray spectrometer and the TIGRESS project, funded by NSERC, CFI, and other institutions. His work focuses on nuclear shell structure, precision tests of the Standard Model, and astrophysical processes in stars.
- Education: PhD in Physics from McMaster University (1998)
- Employment: Postdoctoral Fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (1999), joined University of Guelph in 2001
Research uses advanced gamma-ray detection systems like HPGe crystals and multi-detector arrays at TRIUMF's ISAC facility. His group collaborates globally to study rare isotopes, superallowed Fermi beta decays, and nuclear astrophysics. Awards include the Herzberg Medal and John Charles Polanyi Prize.
Labs/Teams: Nuclear Physics Group at University of Guelph, leading GRIFFIN and TIGRESS projects at TRIUMF.
