Carl C. Swisher III is a Professor at Rutgers University's Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. His research focuses on geochronology, Quaternary studies, and calibration of vertebrate/hominin evolution using 40Ar/39Ar mass spectrometry. He has conducted extensive work on volcanic systems, paleoclimate reconstructions, and fossil dating across diverse regions including Mongolia, Ethiopia, and Argentina.
