Carina Faag is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Health Sciences, Swedish Red Cross University, affiliated with the Red Cross College. She serves as VIL coordinator, focusing on work-integrated learning and collaboration between academia and municipalities. Previously, she worked as an adjunct clinical lecturer (AKA) and as a registered nurse at Karolinska Hospital, contributing to diverse clinical departments.
Her research investigates nursing interventions for patients with peripheral vertigo, emphasizing patient preferences and holistic support through group/individual measures. She has validated questionnaires like the Vertigo Symptom Scale (VSS) and examined their alignment with patient experiences. Her studies, rooted in randomized controlled trials (RCTs), highlight the benefits of combining vestibular rehabilitation with individualized support to improve symptom management and quality of life.
She actively participates in the Region's SAMAK working group, promoting interprofessional learning and collaboration. Teaching responsibilities include leading courses in semesters one and three. Her work bridges clinical practice, education, and patient-centered research, aiming to enhance healthcare outcomes through evidence-based interventions.
