Candace Nadon is an Associate Professor of English at Fort Lewis College, Durango, CO, with additional affiliations as a faculty member in Western Colorado University's Graduate Program in Creative Writing. She coordinates the John F. Reed Honors Program and Academic and Creative Enrichment initiatives at FLC, while facilitating the SkyWords Visiting Writers Series and advising the student publication IMAGES.
- Education: PhD in English with Creative Concentration (Fiction and Poetry) from Georgia State University (2013), MFA in Fiction from University of Southern Maine (2006), BA in English from Fort Lewis College (1997)
Her creative and scholarly work explores intersections between embodiment and geography, interrogating dynamics of gender, class, environmental ethics, and systemic power structures. She contributes to academic discourse through textbook development (co-authoring the instructor’s manual for Primary Research and Writing) and is currently writing a Colorado-based thriller.
Notable achievements include securing a Teagle Foundation/NEH grant and participating in the Council of Public Liberal Art Colleges (COPLAC) Beard Leadership Circle. Her writing has been published in Five Points, New Flash Fiction Review, and other journals.

Candace maintains strong familial ties to Western Colorado University through her grandparents (Western alumni), great-grandfather (Gunnison Valley County Judge and rancher), and relative Ila McAfee (Taos painter and Western Normal School alumna).
