Graz University of Technologyمعرفی
Eleanor Campbell is a Professor at the School of Chemistry, University of Edinburgh, where she holds the Chair of Chemistry since 2013 and previously the Chair of Physical Chemistry (2007–2013). Her academic career spans leadership roles across multiple institutions, including Chair of Atomic and Molecular Physics at Göteborg University (1998–2007) and Department Head at the Max Born Institut, Berlin (1993–1998).
- Education: Habilitation in Experimental Physics, University of Freiburg (1992); PhD and BSc (1st class hons) in Chemical Physics, University of Edinburgh (1986, 1982).
Her research focuses on gas phase studies of fullerenes and atomic clusters, ultrashort pulse laser ablation, carbon nanotube growth and devices, and nanoelectromechanical systems. These areas bridge physical chemistry and atomic/molecular physics, emphasizing advanced materials and nanotechnology.
Eleanor Campbell has received numerous accolades, including election to the Royal Society (2010), the Royal Society of Chemistry Tilden Award (2013), and the Göran Gustafsson Prize (2000). She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institute of Physics, and a member of several international scientific academies.
She has held significant administrative roles, such as Head of the School of Chemistry at Edinburgh (2010–2015), and served on committees for the Royal Society and Royal Society of Edinburgh. Her work also involves collaborations, including a guest visiting professorship at Konkuk University (2009–2018).
