Camilla Stormo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Natural Sciences at the University of Agder (UiA). She specializes in biomedical research with a focus on infectious diseases, microbiology, and molecular genetics. Her work includes studies on tick-borne pathogens such as Borrelia burgdorferi and Anaplasma phagocytophilum, as well as genetic variations impacting human health (e.g., pseudoxanthoma elasticum, atorvastatin metabolism). She is affiliated with the research group on Biomedicine, Ticks, tick-borne microorganisms and infections.
Research interests span epidemiology of zoonotic diseases, drug-response genetics, and transcriptomic analyses. Her recent studies investigate seroprevalence of tick-borne viruses in horses and pharmacogenetic factors influencing drug efficacy. Publications reflect interdisciplinary approaches in microbiology, molecular biology, and clinical pharmacology.
Key contributions include analyses of ABCC6 gene variations linked to genetic disorders and HMGCR splice variants affecting cholesterol pathways. She has collaborated on projects involving RNA sequencing and genotype-phenotype correlations in drug metabolism.
