Camilla Sløk is an Associate Professor at the Department of Organization, Copenhagen Business School (CBS), with a focus on ethics, conflicting values in leadership, and responsibility/guilt dynamics in public sector governance. Since joining CBS in 2004, her research has addressed leadership dilemmas across educational, religious, and political institutions, blending sociological theory (e.g., Niklas Luhmann), theological perspectives, and organizational studies.
- Education: PhD (2004) from University of Copenhagen, dissertation on 'Necessitas som distinktion'.
Her work explores how leaders navigate value conflicts in school reforms, the Danish Lutheran Church, and public crises. She has authored 108 research outputs, including books like Blod, sved og tårer (2014) and Magt og omsorg i det eksistentielle lederskab (2020). Key themes include guilt as a social convention, existential leadership, and hybrid governance structures.
Recent publications analyze guilt in stakeholder management, economic theology, and organizational forgiveness. She received Copenhagen University’s Gold Medal (1996) for her thesis on Niklas Luhmann and DSEB’s Research Dissemination Award (2018).
