Camilla E. Lindan, MD, is a Volunteer Clinical Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She holds a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed her radiology residency and neuroradiology fellowships at UCSF and Barrow Neurologic Institute. Dr. Lindan has maintained a dual role as a practicing neuroradiologist at UCSF and a clinical faculty member since 1993, with over two decades of experience in teaching residents and fellows at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Benioff Children’s Hospital Mission Bay.
Her research focuses on novel therapeutic approaches for neurologic diseases, including gene and cell therapies. She co-leads the ASNR/ASFNR/ASPNR Gene & Cell Therapy Study Group and actively collaborates on multinational trials targeting disorders like inborn metabolic errors and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Lindan has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications, with recent work addressing imaging in SCN1A-related epilepsies, SARS-CoV-2 neuroimaging, and pediatric MOGAD.
Her awards include the 2022 Henry J. Kaiser Teaching Award and 2021 UCSF Radiology Clinical Faculty Award. She serves as a consultant for gene therapy trials and has lectured extensively on neuroradiology’s role in emerging treatments.
