Dr. Camila Shirota is a researcher with The Hopkins Centre, a nationally recognised hub for rehabilitation and resilience research at Griffith University. She serves as Research Lead and Advance Queensland Fellow with HabITec, focusing on improving access to well-designed technologies that enhance the lives of people with disability.
Her research centers on using technology for disability and rehabilitation applications, particularly addressing the poor uptake of available technologies despite increasing potential. Her work involves bringing together diverse teams of stakeholders to co-create practical solutions to issues faced by people with disability. Her methodology emphasizes co-design approaches that incorporate perspectives from service users, clinicians, and researchers.
