Dr. Cameron Younger is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Radiation Science at the University of Newcastle's School of Health Sciences. He holds a PhD in Medical Radiation Science and has extensive clinical experience as a radiographer and educator. His research focuses on ethical risk disclosure in medical imaging, particularly ionising radiation exposure. He has received awards for teaching excellence, including the inaugural DVC(A) Teaching and Learning Excellence Award (2019).
Education: PhD (University of Newcastle, 2020), Master of Medical Radiation Science (Charles Sturt University, 2009), Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Honours) (University of Newcastle, 2000), and earlier qualifications from the University of Sydney and Newcastle.
Research interests include informed consent processes, radiation risk communication, and trauma imaging. He has published extensively on ethical and legal aspects of medical imaging practices. Current supervision includes a Master's project on radiation exposure in pelvic and acetabular fracture treatments.
Teaching roles include lecturing in Diagnostic Radiography Methods and designing curricula. He emphasizes hands-on clinical training and has pioneered modern imaging education facilities.
