Dr. Cameron L. Neece is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Loma Linda University. He leads the CREATE Lab, which focuses on developing family-based interventions for children with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). His research emphasizes reducing behavior problems and psychopathology through mindfulness-based approaches.
Dr. Neece holds a PhD (2011) and MA (2007) in Clinical Psychology from UCLA. His specialties include childhood disorders (emphasizing IDD and ASD), parenting processes, and treatment outcome research. Current projects include the PRO-Parenting Project, STEPS, CRISP, and SIESTA initiatives.
His recent publications (2020–2023) explore stress-reduction interventions, parental distress in ASD families, and impacts of global crises like the pandemic on underserved populations. He is licensed in California and affiliated with organizations including the APA Divisions 33 & 53, IASSIDD, and ABCT.
Dr. Neece’s work prioritizes underserved communities, with a focus on culturally adapted interventions such as Spanish-language parenting programs for caregivers of children with developmental delays.
