Cameron J. Elward

Cameron J. Elward, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). He serves as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, currently stationed as a Flight Commander in Operational Support Medicine at the 38th Rescue Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, while also working part-time as a pediatric hospitalist at South Georgia Medical Center.

His research focuses on Global Health Engagement and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Publications include studies on parasitic infestations in appendicitis diagnostics and genetic disorders related to GLI2 gene deletions.

Dr. Elward has deployed to the Horn of Africa (March-October 2023) as a Flight Surgeon supporting the Personnel Recovery Task Force. His clinical work integrates military operational medicine with pediatric care.
