Cameron Brown

Professor Cameron Brown is a leading academic in Biomedical Engineering at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), serving as Chair of Biomedical Engineering and Director of the Medical Engineering Research Facility (MERF). He also holds an Associate Honorary Professorship at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on structure-property-function relationships in biomedical materials, biomimetic materials, and frontier medical technologies. Notable contributions include spider silk mechanics, medical imaging advancements, and biomaterials development.

Dr. Brown earned his PhD from QUT in 2008, receiving the Outstanding Thesis prize. His career includes leadership roles at the Botnar Research Centre (University of Oxford) and international collaborations like the Italy-Québéc Joint Laboratory. He has pioneered research groups in photonics, mechanics, and biomedical materials modeling.
