Camelia CUȘNIR

Camelia Cușnir is a Lecturer in the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Communication at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Studies (FJSC), University of Bucharest. She holds a Doctor of Communication Sciences (2015/2016), a Master in Communication Sciences (1997), a Master in Canadian Studies (1998), and a Bachelor in Journalism (1996), with postdoctoral studies at Université Paris 2 (2017).

Her research focuses on digital communication, influencers, and media/social media discourse analysis, with a specific interest in the sociology of intellectuals and semiotics. She has coordinated the Master's Program in French (Médias, développement, société) and serves as a key academic voice in Romanian media studies.

The latest publications include analyses of legitimation strategies during the pandemic (2023), media education in Europe (2022), and digital legitimacy of influencers (2020). Her work spans social media activism, religious-political discourse, and post-communist media evolution.

• 2021: Coordinated Adrian Lăzărescu's award-winning bachelor's thesis on social media activism

She advises students in digital communication and media sociology, with a focus on Romanian public intellectuals, online political campaigns, and environmental discourse. Her teaching includes consultation hours via email and in-person in room 615, University of Bucharest.
