Camelia Benlabiod is a Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Laboratory Science within the Medical Sciences Division of the University of Oxford. She is an active member of the Psaila Research Group, which specializes in megakaryocyte and platelet biology with a focus on myeloproliferative neoplasms.
Her research centers on inflammatory mechanisms in the bone marrow stem cell niche, particularly how galectin-1 drives myelofibrosis progression in myeloproliferative disorders. This work bridges hematology, stem cell biology, and translational oncology to identify novel therapeutic targets for bone marrow cancers.
Dr. Benlabiod contributes to the Psaila Group's mission of advancing understanding of platelet disorders through cutting-edge cellular and molecular techniques, with recent findings published in high-impact journals like Science Translational Medicine.
