Calvin Ryan Cheung-Miaw is Assistant Professor of History at Duke University's Trinity College of Arts and Sciences. His research examines race through intellectual history and social movements, focusing on Asian American Studies' role in Third Worldism's evolution in the United States.
His current book project explores Asian Americans and the color-line, while secondary research investigates radical Asian American activism, including transnational political violence cases. He teaches courses including Introduction to Asian American History, Asian American Community History, and Theorizing Liberation.
