Calvin Morrill is the Stefan A. Riesenfeld Professor of Law and Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley. He is affiliated with the Department of Sociology and the Center for the Study of Law and Society. His research focuses on the sociology of law, organizational theory, social movements, and qualitative methods, emphasizing how social conflict influences institutional change. Morrill’s work bridges legal, organizational, and cultural studies, with recent projects addressing youth conflict, immigration, and socio-legal dynamics in marginalized communities.
His notable publications include *Navigating Conflict* (2018), exploring youth conflict de-escalation in schools, and co-edited volumes such as *Together Alone* (2005). He has contributed to journals like *American Psychologist* and *Law & Society Review*, addressing topics ranging from youth violence to organizational fairness.
