Calista McRae is an Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Her research focuses on American literature, particularly exploring animals in poetry, humor in modern poetry, and the intersection of literature with science and nature. She holds a Ph.D. in English from Harvard University (2016) and a B.A. in English from Amherst College (2009). Her work examines poets such as Walt Whitman, Robert Frost, Marianne Moore, and Emily Dickinson, analyzing themes of animality, environmental interaction, and literary form.
