Caixia Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geomatics at the University of Alaska Anchorage's College of Engineering. Her research focuses on Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Science, and Spatiotemporal Modeling. She holds a Ph.D. from George Mason University (2010) and has held roles including Postdoctoral Research Fellow at George Mason and Visiting Assistant Professor at Missouri State University.
Education includes a B.E. in Surveying Engineering from Wuhan University (1996), M.S. in Spatial Information Science from the University of Maine (2004), and Ph.D. in Earth Systems and Geoinformation Sciences from George Mason University (2010).
Her research interests emphasize spatial data integration, cloud computing, and web services. Recent work explores scene similarity assessment, image-to-map registration, and indoor spatial awareness. Peer-reviewed contributions span journals like ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing and conferences such as ACM GIS.
